Bimal Kalvani Named President of Alcoa Flexible Packaging
On making the announcement, Ruth Mack, Vice President Alcoa and Group President, Packaging and Consumer Products, said: "Bimal brings extensive packaging management experience to Alcoa that will help foster our growth and business strategies in the flexible packaging market."
Before joining Alcoa, Mr. Kalvani honed his skills in several executive leadership positions with major packaging organizations involving manufacturing and acquisitions strategy, and planning and analysis. Most recently, he served as vice president, Mergers & Acquisitions and Operations Strategy for Berry Plastics, Inc. of Alsip, Illinois, a leading manufacturer and marketer of injection-molded and thermoformed plastic packaging. Prior to Berry Plastics buying Landis Plastics in 2003, Mr. Kalvani served in several senior executive management positions with Landis. Mr. Kalvani also held vice president leadership roles in manufacturing and planning and analysis with Packaging Resources, Inc., a food packaging business located in Lake Forest, Illinois, and while with Tetra Pak, Flexible Packaging Systems, he worked as director, Converting in its Lincolnshire, Illinois location. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kalvani held research and process engineering assignments with Pactiv and Avery Dennison Corporation.
