Badger Tag & Label Expands Digital Capabilities

Building on the momentum of a 90-year milestone celebration last year, Badger Tag & Label has installed a Durst Tau RSC-E narrow web digital inkjet press and complimentary Aztech finishing system. The high-speed press adds variable data printing to their services while the near line finisher does full and semi rotary die cutting, lamination, and finishes onto rolls or individual sheets. The company has experienced an ever-increasing volume of projects better suited to a narrow web digital press.

Tags and labels remain the company’s foundation, but they have also seen significant growth in  specialty applications including magnets, gauges, guides, and faceplates. These diverse projects meant their wide format digital equipment was running at capacity and reinforced the need for the equipment additions.

The Durst press was selected following extensive evaluation and site visits to numerous showrooms and other printers. Most helpful was input from FLAG community members and conversations with equipment competitors at the Digital Packaging Summit.
