Helmut Schreiner, executive manager and owner of the Schreiner Group, has been selected as the winner of the R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award. The judging panel convened during the recent FINAT Congress in Sicily, selecting Schreiner for his passion for his company, pioneering innovation, input into industry associations, and the training and development of his employees.
UNION CITY, Calif.—Industry veteran Jim Burden has joined flexible packaging company Emerald Packaging Inc. as business strategy director. In this new position he will manage a variety of responsibilities including developing operating metrics, assisting the operations team on LEAN manufacturing initiatives, and collaborating with sales to identify markets for growth.
NORCROSS, Ga.—RockTenn announced changes to its operational organization after the completion of its recent acquisition of Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. Mike Kiepura has been named president, Consumer Packaging, and Jim Porter has been named president, Corrugated Packaging and Recycling.
Cortegra Named Supplier of the Year
FAIRFIELD, N.J.—Cortegra, a cGMP-compliant partner for healthcare packaging solutions, has been recognized as the 2010 Supplier of the Year by Par Pharmaceuticals.
