ECO Folder/Gluer Adds to Finishing Lineup
ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Flower City Printing has added capacity to its finishing capabilities with the installation of a 41˝ ECO 105 folder/gluer from Heidelberg. The company, which specializes in retail signage, POP, POS, folding cartons, litho labels, packaging, and kit-packing/fulfillment, was impressed with the ECO 105's productivity—up to 50,000 lockbottom cartons per hour—as well as its flexibility to process lock- and double-wall boxes, along with four- and six-corner cartons. According to Director of Marketing Tina Beauchemin, the ease of use and fast makereadies enabled by the new folder/gluer are also a big plus for the handling of frequent job changeovers needed to process multiple short runs from 5,000 to 50,000 pieces.
"The ECO 105 has become a valuable addition to our folding and gluing operation due to its ability to handle a wide range of folding configurations and sizes," says Kevin Neureuter, Director of Operations.
Established in 1970 and with annual sales revenue in the $60 million range, Flower City operates three facilities in the Rochester area employing a total of around 285 employees.
